Raul Ramirez Offers an Exceptional Wine Tasting Experience

Looking for a superior wine experience away from the usual tasting room crowds? Come and enjoy the hospitality of Raul Ramirez Bodegas y Vinedos. Located in the Temecula Valley Wine Country (seven miles past the Rancho California round-about), this beautiful and unique Spanish-themed winery and Andalusian horse ranch will amaze you. 

My husband, son and I recently enjoyed a lovely afternoon sampling some of this winery's current vintages. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by winery manager and marketing director, Patrick Bartlett (photo above). His warm and engaging personality sets the stage for a pleasurable wine experience as he guides you through your tasting flight of six wines. Business manager, Mary Blankenship, was also a delight, and there to help and answer questions along the way. 

The 2017 Estate Garnacha Blanca was one of our favorites on this warm spring day and was a perfect addition to our picnic charcuterie board, which we enjoyed on their outdoor patio. The tasting also included a 2015 Estate Reserve Mezcla Tinta, the 2015 Estate Reserve Garnacha, a 2009 Monastrell, and a late harvest Chardonnay. Raul Ramirez also has a wine club, where they offer exclusive member benefits of private tastings and invitation-only events. 

The VIP tasting room boasts high ceilings and is light and airy, featuring sleek contemporary decor with Spanish and equestrian touches. The large adjoining room is a perfect gathering space, with several seating areas and a beautiful gourmet kitchen. Both rooms have wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards.

The Estate vineyards are planted with Tempranillo, Garnacha, Monastrell, Verdejo and Albariño grapes. Spain’s beautiful and intelligent Andalusian horses, known for their long, flowing manes, grace the property where you may experience them during your visit to the winery. 

Your private tasting will include a glass of reception wine, followed by a guided tasting flight and complemented by tapas platters of Spanish-inspired cheeses, meats and condiments. You will also be invited to view a demonstration by one of their beautiful dancing Andalusian horses. ($35 per person).
